Scott owned and operated an Autel Robotics Evo Nano+ drone for three years, using it to capture landscape reference imagery in the Texas Hill Country to support his large-scale oil paintings. This early hands-on experience led him to pursue more advanced training and FAA certification.

In 2025, he earned his Part 107 Remote Pilot license and began training with Sky Elements during a 1,000-drone Wall Street Journal performance, where he learned to set up flight control systems, manage Wi-Fi and satellite uplinks, and operate command-and-control software for live aerial displays. He later served as official co-pilot and crew lead for a 500-drone Fourth of July show at Northern Quest Casino in Spokane, WA, overseeing field operations and managing team logistics on-site.
